Jacqueline Starkey
Jacqueline is the Founder of Birthjourneys and loves to nurture, support, and grow strong birth-workers and birthing Families for decades. Jacqueline has provided birth doula care and Lamaze Education to birthing families. More recently, Jacqueline became a Registered Nurse in 2007, a DONA Birth Doula Trainer in 2012, and a Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2015. Birth, Birth-workers and Breastfeeding are her areas of passion, focus, and expertise.
Meet Evelyn
Nellie is a mother of four and a DONA certified birth doula. She worked as an art therapist specializing in foster care before having children of her own, and she has been blessed to be a stay at home mom for the last 15 years. Nellie’s passion for childbirth and pregnancy began with the birth of her own children. She loves having the opportunity to support parents emotionally and physically during their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. In addition to nurturing her families in her private practice.
Meet Jessie
Jessie Johnson is a CPR certified, DONA certified Birth Doula who lives in Virginia Beach. She has been a Sentara Princess Anne hospital Birth Doula volunteer for nearly two years during her free time and is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has two wonderful grown children who she holds dear.
Meet Lauren
Lauren is a Licensed Massage Therapist and DONA Birth and Postpartum Doula in training. She offers prenatal, sports massage and early labor massages through her unique massage style that blends relaxation and remedial techniques to address specific client concerns. she also offers aromatherapy and other spa like enhancements, including hot stones and cupping. She is a 2015 graduate of the Cayce/Reilly School of Massage and completed Carole Osborn's Pre and Perinatal Massage Training in November 2019. Lauren completed DONA Labor Doula Training in March 2019 with Jacqueline Starkey and DONA Postpartum Doula Training with Anne Grauer in September 2019.Lauren also has served 10 years as a professional Nanny and Newborn Care Specialist. She is a Norfolk native and currently resides in Virginia Beach with her boyfriend and 4 rescue animals. Lauren enjoys gardening, hiking, painting, kayaking and watching her nieces and nephew grow.
