Jacqueline is the Founder of Birthjourneys and loves to nurture, support, and grow strong birth-workers and birthing Families for decades. Jacqueline has provided birth doula care and Lamaze Education to birthing families. More recently, Jacqueline became a Registered Nurse in 2007, a DONA Birth Doula Trainer in 2012, and a Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2015. Birth, Birth-workers and Breastfeeding are her areas of passion, focus, and expertise.

Akilah is a DONA certified Birth and Postpartum doula, Lamaze trained childbirth educator, and Midwife Assistant serving families in the Hampton Roads area. (Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, and Newport News)
Her heart is to serve birthing women and their families through emotional, physical and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. Whether in the hospital, birth center, or home she aims to support parents in building evidence-based decisions and empowering them throughout their journey.
Pamela is a DONA certified birth doula, Pamela feels that walking alongside families in their journey to welcoming a new baby is a beautiful privilege, and can’t imagine a greater honor. Her desire as a doula is to support her clients in whatever their desires are for pregnancy, labor, delivery, and immediately postpartum. Through prenatal education and labor support she strives to help clients create a plan that will give them the information and tools they need to have a successful birth journey.
Chan is a Certified DONA Birth Doula serving families in the Hampton Roads area. She's also a Certified Hypno-Doula providing services to families who want to experience childbirth using the technique of hypnosis. Her passion for birth started at a young age and she take pride in being part of a family's birth story; whether that is in the hospital, at a home birth or in a birthing center. Educating families and providing physical and emotional support during their most vulnerable time, for her, is the most wonderful and fulfilling job she could ever ask for. She is also a wife and mother of two children who she adores. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, making wreaths and reading.
Evelyn is a certifying DONA International Doula who has enjoyed helping a number of families in Hampton Roads since June of 2019. She is a loving wife and mother of six children, four of her own plus two step-children. Her love and passion for helping women with pregnancy and childbirth began after her own first birth experience. she supports families, both physically and emotionally, paired with her own birth experiences and education have prepared her for the role of a Doula. She is honored to walk alongside families, offering emotional and physical support, during their important journey to parenthood. She focuses on a family centered experience where she encouraged the partner and other family members to actively participate in labor support.
Zeriah's journey as a Doula started when her husband joined the military. She has spent 8 years as an honorary Doula while her husband served. She has been a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and a cheerleader to all of her military family and friends. In 2018 her and her husband decided to leave the military and follow their dreams to start careers in their passions. In 2019 she met a Doula (Akilah) through Facebook who opened the door into this beautiful Doula world. She then started building her skills as a volunteer Doula in Sentara Princess Anne where she has Doula-ed un-medicated, medicated and cesarean births. In early 2020 she completed her Dona workshop and is now training to become a certified Dona Birth and postpartum Doula
Nellie is a mother of four and a DONA certified birth doula. She worked as an art therapist specializing in foster care before having children of her own, and she has been blessed to be a stay at home mom for the last 15 years. Nellie’s passion for childbirth and pregnancy began with the birth of her own children. She loves having the opportunity to support parents emotionally and physically during their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. In addition to nurturing her families in her private practice.
Jessie Johnson is a CPR certified, DONA certified Birth Doula who lives in Virginia Beach. She has been a Sentara Princess Anne hospital Birth Doula volunteer for nearly two years during her free time and is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has two wonderful grown children who she holds dear.
Lauren is a Licensed Massage Therapist and DONA Birth and Postpartum Doula in training. She offers prenatal, sports massage and early labor massages through her unique massage style that blends relaxation and remedial techniques to address specific client concerns. she also offers aromatherapy and other spa like enhancements, including hot stones and cupping. She is a 2015 graduate of the Cayce/Reilly School of Massage and completed Carole Osborn's Pre and Perinatal Massage Training in November 2019. Lauren completed DONA Labor Doula Training in March 2019 with Jacqueline Starkey and DONA Postpartum Doula Training with Anne Grauer in September 2019.Lauren also has served 10 years as a professional Nanny and Newborn Care Specialist. She is a Norfolk native and currently resides in Virginia Beach with her boyfriend and 4 rescue animals. Lauren enjoys gardening, hiking, painting, kayaking and watching her nieces and nephew grow.
